Kids Summer Art Camps 2016

Please join us this summer for Art in a Park Summer Camps!

This is a wonderful opportunity for children and adults
to draw and paint from real life, in the great outdoors!
We will explore various mediums using flowers, landscapes, cityscapes and animals as subjects. We have traditionally visited parks and gardens around Calgary and have always had enjoyable experiences.

A favourite and must do activity again this year,
includes a trip to the Calgary Zoo.

Art has never been so much fun!!!

Please read below about details of upcoming art camps.

Make sure you browse our Gallery of Student's work and our projects pages to learn more about our fun and educational art camps.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email Jane at janerom@shaw.ca

Other Information

What we do at our Camps

The day at the camp is usually structured in the following way: In the morning teach children how to observe the environment around them and sketch or paint from real life. "En plein air" is an expression which means "in the open air" and was invented by French Impressionists to describe the act of painting outdoors

Then we will have lunch and play time.

In the afternoon we have a hands on projects. We will explore various techniques in watercolour and acrylic painting, create sculptures, mosaics, paper art, print making and more.

In a case of rain we might visit Art Galleries or a Green House to draw flowers and garden sculptures.
